You'll have to take my word for it; those really are koi, unwilling to pose after their traumatic autumn. What would have been a three or four day job stretched into a month as the workers strung along an apparently maximum number of jobs. The koi did their sardine thing with the goldfish in a pond less than 250 gallons. They're showing no ill effects from being in a pond lined with aged roof-liner but they're still spooked by all the changes.
